British Airways Fraud, Extortion, Taking advantage of clients Harmondsworth

Two tickets for my 3 year old daugher and myself, her first time on a plane very excited she would at least once in her life meet her UK family.

Complications with her Visa made it seem as if there was no way I'd get her passport in time.

I know airlines are scum bags when it comes to refunds but $2200 is a huge amount of money to a single father so I thought what is the harm in trying to get a refund. There is a small possibility I'll get the passport in time and if that is the case, I can just book the flight again if they refund me, if they wont refund me I'll just leave the flight open and possibly get the passport in time.

I call in, I am extatic that in just 10 minutes of talking with someone who answered the phone relatively quickly through the automated service, she tells me I can cancel the flight and get a refund. I put it down to cancelling maybe months in advance, maybe they know they will sell the tickets before then and are just being a decent company?

Straight onto Facebook and praising BA I was shocked. I had just gone through a mess with a small EU airline that I had booked flights to France with because my daughter loves the eiffle tower for some reason... I tried to do the same with this smaller EU airline, they told me no way you can get a refund, if anything you might be able to get the tax refunded. I was very disappointed with them.

A week later I'm shocked to see a fraction of what I paid refunded back to my credit card. I call in and say what is this? They said they only refunded the tax, not the whole flight. The women on the phone purposely misled me leading me to believe she was giving me a refund, when she knew that I was not going to get my money back and they would resell the tickets and earn 2x on my seats.

Furious I just gave up from there, didn't proceed just too much time and effort.

Then the passport comes through a month before departure, I call the airline and said "look, the seats are still avaialble, you still have $2000 of my money, the flight is now only $1700 on your website. Are you really going to try and make a single father who saved for a year and a half so his daughter could meet her family pay $4000 for a $1700 flight?" The cold hearted b**** on the phone wouldn't even let me speack to a supervisor. 

Absolutely discusted the way they tricked me into cancelling my flight knowing that I wasn't going to get a refund.

I will never fly BA ever again, and when I am forced too, I will cause as much damage to that aircraft as humanly possible with my bear hands without jeopardizing it's capability to fly.
