Alabama government has been seduced by Wal-mart corporation big money to steal the land from Alabama land owners so they can sell it to Wal-mart for a song.
Wal-mart claims not to know anything about it, but you know there was a backroom deal on this.

Know Your Amendments
AUTHOR: Timothy - (U.S.A.)

Ah, I see, you're one of those "activist judges are the scourge of mankind" people.
As I said before, the decision in question only ratified what state governments have been allowing for years. That means that, contrary to your argument, the Supreme Court is not "taking away" your rights. What they are doing is allowing the elected branches to do so.
By the way, nothing in the Constitution says that the government can't take your property. To the contrary, the Constitution contemplates that the government will, at times, take private property. The Constitution only requires that you be compensated. And, FYI, it was your hated Supreme Court that limited EMINENT domain to public use sitations in the first place.
And one last thing: it would be a violation of the FIFTH, not the FOURTH Amendment. When property is "seized" in connection with a crime or a criminal investigation, the Fourth Amendment search and seizure clause is implicated. When property is "taken" for non-criminal reasons, the Fifth Amendment takings clause is implicated.

Proper Title

It's called Tyranny the las time I checked the United State Constitution and violates the Constitution for profit. It ignores the two legilative Branches of government that should be superceeding this sort of unethical practice and subversion of law by judges with their own agenda. They are not voted in and you cannot vote them out.
Their decisions will affect you and many generations to come if the other branches of government do not act according to the US Constitutuion. It's a violation of the Fourth Amendment. Churches especially will be affected by this aggregious act by the Supreme Court and other Not for profit organizations because they do not produce tax revenue.
I hope someone uses Imminent Domain and takes their unprofitable homes and country clubs and see how they like it. Every American citizen should be up in arms over this because The Supreme Court is taking away your right to own property. Its very un-American and is tyranny at it's best.

Eminent Domain Present Imminent Threat to US Constitutional Security for US Citizens
AUTHOR: Mario - (U.S.A.)

Thank for standing up for right, Robin.
Concerned? d**n, I am mad as hell. How dare the politicians try to veil their theft of our land and paint it as community upgrade programs while they lines their own pockets with gelt.
I don't think those of you who said write your Senators to stop this understand what is going on. The Senators get a benefit by taking your land, probably even kickbacks.
We are talking about the legal challenges to the property of US citizens, who have been getting their land stolen so the government can turn around and sell the land to Walmart.
That is what has been in the news over the past two years, if you have been watching.
I really never expected this. What is this... 1865? But instead of taking land for the railroads it is for the money grubbing, back stabbing corporate bean counters who are more concerned about whether or not you have a receipt for your return than the land they are purchasing from a government that has stolen it from you.
Walmart's official policy is that they have nothing to do with public policy. Meanwhile, in Louisiana, charges have been leveled at public officials for taking bribes from Walmart for doing this very thing. Instead of getting mad at the politicians, get mad at the money that perverts the system.
What we need are modern-day Jesse James, who will take down the supply train and force Walmart and Target to their knees, and capitulate. We wouldn't need to have the silly Supreme Court ruling on these matters if people weren't being taken advantage of. Who would blame those who take action to protect their property.
I think it's about time for another revolution.

Eminent Domain ..there is no freedom in this country any more

I read both reports and it is sad that this happens and it really goes to show us all that there is no freedom in this country any more.
First they start stealing your time, efforts and sweat by taxing you, now they are stealing your property. I doubt whether the people were properly compensated in the incidents identified in the reports.

Here are a couple of articles from WorldNetDaily outlining recent abuses of eminent domain:
Report: Eminent-domain abuse widespread

and this article may address the very case being protested:

Read these and then come back and call people stupid. It is always best to educate oneself before casting stones!

The term both of you have mispelled is "Eminent Domain."
Your land is taken from you because you are too stupid to protect it.

Emminent Domain being ABUSED
AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, September 21, 2003
Local GOVTS are ABUSING the use of the Emminent Domain procedures. They force owners to sell property to the Govt who re-sells it to a MAJOR corporation for their benefit. This is so THEY can make a profit. What about our poor little previous owner who wants to make a profit. TOUGH. I believe Emminent Domain procedure should only be used for PUBLIC USE (I.E. Parks, Roads and such) If a CORPORATION wants something, then let them pay. If they have to pay more, oh well that is the cost of doing business. And why should only the BIG companies be allowed to make money. Why cant YOU & I also make money by buying low & selling HIGH....Sorry, but this is POLITICAL GREED & CORRUPTION.
