my house burnt to the ground 2 weeks ago! i calles rentway about my rentals 3 times to make sure insurance paid for the damages & about the lifetime credit re-instatement that they advertise on tv & on their website. i was told everything was fine & my credit would be applied to the stuff ( which would have been paid off in october of this year). well i go in there today & i was told i would not be given credit on what i paid for!!! how bad do you think i feel , i just lost everything i ever owned & now a bunch of stupid people tell me that. they have not heard from the last of me yet, i am sending my story to every local newspaper & tv station i can find!!!!

If you are buying from any rental company, you are NOT building your credit. Go to a bank and make a loan, that is how you build credit, not paying 3 times retail price.

I have to agree that your situation would be a very sad one and I hope everything works out with you. I currently shop with rent a center though were insurance is required and there can be no misunderstandings like this. I tried going to Rentway first but they kept giving me the run arround on the merchandise I wanted that was a year ago and I still call from time to time to see if it is in yet they always say the same thing come pick something out of the store we would be glad to give it to you your product is in the lexington store or whatever city they decide sounds good at that time. SO IF THEY THOUGHT THE MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED OVER WHAT HAPPENED I AM SURE YOU WERE WRONGED. SORRY AND TO THE EMPLOYEE AT THE OHIO STORE YOUR TONE TO THIS CUSTUMER SHOWS HOW CRAPPY AND INCINSERE EMPLOYEES TO RENTWAY ARE. YOU SHOULD LEARN MANNERS YOU CAN SWEAR NO WRONG DOING WITHOUT BEING MEAN.

MANGER IN FULTON WAS NOT FIRED THAT I WAS TOLD

RENTWAY SO FAR HAS BEEN GOOD TO US. I FIND IT HARD TO BELEIVE IF ITS THE MANAGER IM THINKING OF THATS NOT THERE NOW, LEFT BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT HIRE EXTRA HELP FOR DELIVERY. HE WAS VERY NICE WHEN FORMER CUSTOMERS TRAILER BURNT TO THE GROUND.

HE OFFERED HIS SONS CLOTHES THAT HE HAD OUT GROWN
AND GAVE A COMFTMER FROM THE STORE. THIS GUY WAS GREAT. IN FACT THEY NEED HIM BACK AT THAT STORE.

WE ARE BUYING A COMPUTER FROM THEM NOW AND SO FAR SO GOOD. YES WE HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH OUR COMPUTER, BUT THEY DID PROCESS OF ELIMINATION THEY SUPPLIED US A NEW KEYBORD, AND NEW MOUSE, AND MY HUSBAND AND RENTWAY FIGURE IT WAS THE MODEUM, AND YES THEY GAVE US A MODEUM SAME KIND BUT MORE RAMS I BELIEVE OR SOMETHING ELSE.

BUT AS FAR A RENTWAY GOS SO FAR THEY HAVE TREATED US RIGHT. WE HAVE MADE OUR PAYMENTS ON TIME. THEY KNOW EXACTLEY WHEN WE ARE COMING IN EVERY MONTH.

IF YOU TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED YOU WILL GET THE SAME RESULTS.

I am a rentway employee, and find it disturbing that another rentway employee would treat a client like this. But to the stores defence, you left out some very important information. You can't expect everyone who reads this to make an inteligent decision without all of the information.

My questions to you are: What type of insurance did you carry? You are not required to carry insurance. If you had Liability Damage Wavier then all that insurance will cover is to pay off the balance of the rental aggrement for the client. If you had Club insurance then you are intitled to replacement of the product of which you were renting, of equal or greater value. At the time of the fire was your insurance up to date. please note I am from MI, rules and regulations do change from state to state. If you were up to date on your insurance and you did have the Club insurance then you should be entitled to a replacement product. Also please note, the fire must have been accidental. If you think you can't deal with the store manager then call 1-800-rentway, they will be glade to answer any questions and help with your situation. Remember, Rentways modow is: Welcome, Wanted, and Important. This is how we interact and feel about our clients and friends.

What kind of coverage?

Well now, the manager's response should depend on what type of insurance coverage you carried on your merchandise, if you indeed had any. Had you carried our Preferred Customer Club, your stuff would have been replaced with similar merchandise with a similar remaining term. Liability coverage is just that; it covers you in case of accidents like yours, and reimburses the store for it's loss too. But unfortunately, you would have to re-rent new furniture and stuff, just like you would have to if you owned it.

Now if you had no coverage, and the store lost it's merchandise in the accident and did not get reimbursed...how do you expect them, in good conscience, to give you more merchandise because you failed to insure our stuff? Please.

Now be careful with your use of the term "credit". We don't extend credit to our customers, nor do we report your payment activity to any credit reporting agency.

Now our Lifetime Reinstatement would apply to customers who have RETURNED stuff back to us, but now thats not the case here, is it? Oh, and please don't try to scare us with threats of lawsuits.

Unless and employee actually damages YOUR property or violates your rights, you really don't have a leg to stand on. Besides, there's probably a good reason why the store no longer wanted to rent to you, and it has nothing to do with losing their stuff.

What kind of payment history did you have with them? I know I'd do anything for one of my regular-paying customers, and I'm sure so would they.

well i contacted rentways website & told them i would get my lawyers on them about false advertising & as a result they made the manager resign. it sounds like they think they have really messed up over this , but they still say that the unconditional credit still does not apply to me,but unconditional means unconditional.so i am still gonna fight with them over & i have already filed another complaint with the national trade commission & others too
