Les Schwab Tire Les Schwab claims my rims were stolen Littleton Colorado

About a year ago I had purchased snow tires for my F-250 from Les Schwab in Littleton, Colorado.  I had a spare set of factory rims that were in great shape and I didn’t need them since I already had aftermarket winter and summer rims.  Eddie at Les Schwab suggested I leave the rims there and they would sell them for and take 15% of the sale.  I thought this was a great idea and I agreed.  A year went by and I never heard anything about the sale of my rims.  This past Saturday I was at Les Schwab having the rear brakes done and the snow tires taken off my wife’s car, so I asked about my rims.  I was told by the manager (Chris) that they had a store break-in and my rims were stolen along with other items.  He deducted $100 from the $547 bill for the work done on my wife’s car.  $100 dollars for 4 rims, caps, and lugs in great shape…  While paying my bill, another manager (Josh) told me he was unaware of any break-in and that’s all I would get for my rims caps and lugs.  So Les Schwab in Littleton had my rims for a year, and now is claiming they were stolen, but there is no police report or insurance claim?  How can this be?  I wasn’t given the opportunity to accept or refuse $100 for rims, and I could not get an explanation from anyone there, but two employees did tell me there wasn’t a break-in.  If my office was broken into and a theft occurred, all employees would know about it and there would be a police report.   I called the regional manager in Bend, Oregon and spoke with Casey, he agreed the story sounded very sketchy and said he would talk to the local manager Chris.  Casey agreed that the rims might have been worth a few hundred dollars, I was asking for $200 dollars in addition to the $100 that was deducted for my bill.  I though he agreed, but when I arrived at the store to get the credit in writing, Josh told me I was getting two snow tire change overs; take it or leave it.  I don’t need that, I thought I was getting $200 in store credit for whatever I needed to purchase at that store, but that’s not the case.  I trusted Les Schwab to sell my rims, and as far as I’m concerned, they stole them.  Talking to the managers there is a straight waste of time, and it’s impossible to get a simple explanation from anyone there or reach an understanding with the regional office management.  I’ll explore all my options and see where it leads, but it’s very hard to believe a store like this would do something so underhanded and flat out sketchy.
