In December 2023 I booked a double king room with Expedia, The pictures online clearly showed one king side room on the left with the window on the left and one king side room on the right with a window on the right, and the bathroom in between on the third picture, when we showed up at the hotel, two people coming from different parts of the country, for a big convention, there was no such thing at the hotel, and it was too late to book 2 individual rooms. called Expedia. They refused to do anything about it. The Hilton said that they would refund if Expedia said yes, but I spent hours on the phone proving to them that they falsely advertised and they wouldn't do anything. Over the next two months I kept providing them proof, including a video, proving that they're still advertising it falsely.  Even with the executive level unit it took 45 days before they finally agreed to refund the money which included about $57 for Room insurance and an additional approximate $1230 for the room

They even sent me an email finally saying that they would pay both charges back in writing and yet they only paid the $57 and even though I contacted them at that email numerous times that I never received the 1230+ dollars refund they still refused to respond to the email or do anything about it.

The executors of this company are cowards, they push things off to underlings, and then make believe like they don't know what's wrong going on. I will get my money back, either through my credit card or through small claims legal action yet they wasted 30 hours of my time ruined my convention and those Executive cowards at Expedia don't even have the courtesy professionalism or courage to call up make amends and refund plus pay for the damages of wasting nearly a week of my time and ruining my convention.

Do not do business with this company do not do business with this company they are a nightmare to work with, and they absolutely do not care about the customer. They'd rather rip you off.

You did EXACTLY the right thing! I'm also curious, what kind of BOGUS, ADD-ON FEES did they add? Dealer Fee, Electronic Filing Fee, Documentation Fee, Dealer Installed Options whether you want them or not are ALL FAKE FEES and when you READ the documentation BEFORE signing, the addition of these FAKE FEES tell you beyond any shadow of doubt, you are dealing with people who have zero INTEGRITY or HONESTY! The reason these examples of the Sleazy American Car Business treated you that way is because they know the average person doesn't have the backbone to get up and walk out. They would rather just play the role of doormat and reward this dealership slime for DEFRAUDING them!. Not only that, due to their incredible lack of FINANCIAL COMMON SENSE, these stupid people won't even READ what they are agreeing to BEFORE agreeing to it! That's why slime balls in the car business keep pulling their CON-GAMES because they know they can get away with it among these stupid people. BUT NOT YOU! You handled it perfectly and did it in front of others! EXCELLENT WORK. Please keep it up and SPREAD THE WORD how you were treated by this trash who are all choking on the stench of their fraud!

I don't understand rooms, apparently. I've only stayed at hotels probably close to 100 times. You can get a double room that is two queen beds or one king bed. "Double" means it sleeps two people, not that you get two rooms. In fact, the only type of accommodation that includes more than one room is a suite, and they cost a LOT more than $600. As to the price, you said yourself you were there for a convention. Guess what, genius, hotels raise prices when there is more demand. $600 is a perfectly normal rate for a room in a Hilton during some sort of event. As to the pictures, they are obviously pictures of two different floor plans. You reserved ONE ROOM. Your confirmation email has that in bold letters right at the top. Why in God's name would that include two rooms? That makes absolutely no sense.

Dingdong you don’t understand rooms

When you get a queen size bed or a king size bed in a room you can have two occupants that does not make it a double room. You can have two queen size beds that would make it a double room in a single room but what Expedia did if you read, although obviously, your eyeballs aren’t good enough to read the whole thing, and if you looked at the pictures, and obviously, your brain can’t fathom the truth. There’s a picture showing a king size bed with a window to the outside on the left and then a wall separating it from the next room which is the bathroom and then there’s a picture of the bathroom and then there’s a picture of the king size bed with the outside window on the right clearly showing two king size beds plus they were charging $600 a night for this room when they normally would charge less than half that . So why don’t you learn to read and look at the pictures before you come to conclusions that you have no idea what you’re talking about dingdong the witches dead.

One SIMPLE Question

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 02, 2024

Why on earth did you call this THIRD PARTY to make a reservation when you should have called the hotel DIRECTLY and made YOUR OWN reservations??? Nothing but nothing has changed in the reservations business and as soon as you learn that, you will avoid getting shafted by any THIRD PARTY POND SCUM and they are ALL trash! They cater to the inexperienced traveler. They LIE to the public and especially THE GULLIBLE by saying they have some "special connection" and can get it for you cheaper which THEY CANNOT! That's the lure and con-game they use to get your money, and hope you will cancel. The hotel will REFUND YOUR MONEY TO THEM which they keep! These third party reservation TRASH, all of them, will even make "mistakes" in what you want in hopes you will cancel so they will KEEP YOUR MONEY. These third party reservation trash are the SLIME OF THE INDUSTRY. Again, they cater to inexperienced travelers and keep saying they can "get it cheaper" which they CAN NOT! That's nothing more than a CON-GAME to get you to give them ytour money and then stick it to you! The ONLY exception to this is a well known, well established and highly respected travel agency IN YOUR TOWN. Please, learn from this. ALL these third party reservation operation are pure trash and acknowledged slime balls. Don't ever, ever, ever use ANY of them again!

Huh?

A double king room is exactly what is shown in the picture. A room with a king bed that can sleep two people. If you wanted two rooms, you should have booked two rooms. Many hotels can put you in adjacent rooms with a door between them. You received exactly what was described so I'm not sure why you thought they would refund you. What you thought the room configuration was is irrelevant. They don't owe you anything.
