Los Angeles, CaliforniaEDitor's Comment: Rip-off Report Investigation:
Rip-off Report Investigation is complete: We note that with over 35 million registered members, there are only a mere 15 Rip-off Reports filed on the Company, which is an outstanding record. We commend the Company for asking us to look into these Reports with a sincere effort by the Company to satisfy any customer that might have fallen through the cracks. Not too sure what the problem could be with a money back guarantee?! With 35 million customers, and hundreds of customer service people working at the Company, we would think they would have a lot more complaints, but they don't. We all know how customer service people can be, remember they are human too :-) .
Investigation shows many of the comments made about the Company are ludicrous and were more than likely posted by competitors and should not be taken seriously.
ALL BUSINESSES WILL GET COMPLAINTS, BUT HOW THOSE BUSINESSES HANDLE THOSE COMPLAINTS SEPARATES GOOD BUSINESS FROM BAD BUSINESS.
As a matter of policy, when Rip-off Report is retained by a company to mount an independent investigation and to publish our findings, we examine the truthfulness of the consumer complaints using every bit of information at our disposal. Our process is systematic and highly effective because: 1) It takes place at the consumer level and 2) the company or individual in our Corporate Advocacy Program must commit to 'doing whatever it takes to make things right with their customers.' By working closely with the company or individual, Rip-off Report can track the footprints left behind when their promised level of customer service is actually followed by the solid ground of real behavior. Only then do we publish our findings.
Our final investigation shows that the company has demonstrated excellent customer satisfaction and has reasonably addressed all outstanding complaints. Anyone may contact me EDitor@ripoffreport.com with any questions or information..
Also, the company has set up a special email address for those who may have a special refund request (although the regular refund procedures seem to be exemplary). The address is: specialrefund@corp.sms.ac

SMS.ac's work force continues to grow, we realize we cannot satisfy everyone all the time no matter how hard any business will try.. In recognition of its record growth, SMS.ac is filling its ranks with those committed to maintaining the high standards laid out by its CEO co-founders. The wonderful team at SMS.ac has helped the company grow to one of the leaders in the worldwide wireless industry. One of the largest analyst firms in the world (IDC) named SMS.ac to its “10 Emerging Wireless Players to Watch" list for 2005… and an industry standard (Fierce Wireless) named SMS.ac to its “Fierce 15" list, calling SMS.ac one of the top 15 wireless companies in the world. SMS.ac has also been featured on the front page of the New York Times, the BBC, CNBC Europe, MSNBC, USA Today, ABC's 20/20 and many other news outlets around the world. SMS.ac is always looking for superstars to join its team.

NOW TO THE ORIGIONAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED…
=====================
Having read the postings on this topic I feel the need to tell my story. I am another individual who worked at sms.ac for a short period of time. I have seen the scam they do first hand. They manipulate data, they distort the truth, they sucker decent honest people in to working for free. Some of the people there have been working for years for nothing. Most of them don't understand the stock option situation and the fact that they'll get nothing.
Having worked in other start-ups, I managed to quickly assess the scam and bailed out. But it took a lot of persistance to get the actual data. Pousti wasn't forthcoming with any of it.
Make no mistake about it. Posti has perfected the art of the scam. He is a confidence trickster. He tells a great story and you believe he's just a short guy with a lot of drive. His run in with the US Postal service is indicitive of the type of guy that he is. His spin on collegeclubs.com is another one. He ran the company into the ground, spending money like it was going out of fashion. He was fired and the company was sold in a fire-sale.... not exactly the story he tells in his bio. If you don't believe me ask the VCs who invested in it. Or better yet ask any VC in San Diego what they think of this scam. There's a reason they don't have proper VC funding. Smart money doesn't invest in scams like this. You have been warned.
Chris McKibben appears to be a god guy, but has been suckered into this whole thing. He's not smart enough to realize what's going on and he follows Posuti like a lap-dog. He'll look back at this in a few years and realize what an idiot he was to put his reputation on the line for nothing. Chris, wake up and smell the coffee. Get out of there.
Brandi Williams is coy. She's in this as deep as Pousti. She's an acomplice. Certainly not a victim.
Their database is largely inactive. The churn rate on their service is huge. But SMS.ac never counts people who signed on once and left. So their database keeps growing. The only thing that's impressve is the number of people they have reached once or twice.
But undertand its not viral. For this to be a viral service churn rates should be low and stickiness should be high. SMS.ac has the exact opposite traits. They have a database of phone numbers. That's it.
The SMS messages you receive from girls trying to flirt with you are really SMS workers trying to create demand.
The messages from people in the chat groups are made up to make money.
Don't be a fool people. Walk away.
My name is hidden because I too can't afford to get sued by them for telling he truth. But rest assured sms.ac, if you want to come after me, I have many emails, spreadsheets and reports that can back up everything I say. I was smart enough to keep a backup in case things went sour. I have not distributed it to anyone as I would consider that unethical. But I will use it if I need to.
