A young man came by my house on Monday 9/22/08 selling magazine subscriptions to earn points for a school trip. I was a little hesitant but he indicated that my check would not be deposited until the following Friday which would give me time to cancel the subscription if I chose to. The following day I cancelled both subscriptions within the allotted 3 day notice for refunds. The checks were deposited the next day rather than that Friday and I have yet to see the refund of $106. I contacted Customer Service at an American Cash Awards email address and was told that my refund would be submitted on priority status and I should receive soon. I contacted them again for the status and have now been told that they apologize for the delay but as soon as the company can refund the money, they will.

I felt a little uneasy and did a search on the internet this morning and have discovered that this is a scam. It's a shame that young man is so dishonest. I would hope that they are able to track down these individuals based on bank account transactions. I'm very disappointed.

I'm hoping that they are soon caught and pay a price for their lack of integrity and dishonesty!
