On 7-5-07 my girlfriend was at home with her friend and 4 kids under 6. She heard a knock at the door, it was a man with a tattoo on his neck slightly covered but well dressed he told her that they were doing a survey in the area and that they picked our house. He told her that there has been a lot of break ins in the area lately and the she was picked to receive a free alarm system she told the man great and the man walked in the back of my house and took of the back window the man used scare tactics and told her that he was with a local company and that with all the problems in the neighbor that they would give here the free system for taking the survey.

The man told her the only thing she would have to do was pay for the monitoring. She agreed and the man told her that there a technician in the area that could help right a way and before she sign anything she asked the man for his id and permit he had the id around his neck with the company logo on it and showed a permit that she glanced at he immediately told her a story of how he was working the day before when the cops pulled him over and asked for his permit and he told her that the cop told him that he was one of the good guys and to keep up the good work she agreed to the agreement and before she knew it they were installing it.

Later that day I called home because I had a missed call from my girlfriend she told me about the alarm and thought it was a good idea to. I asked her for the number of the managers phone number so I could call and get the details. Now she told me everything that happened so I called the police office and asked if the guys from Firstline Security were legate and the police told me no they had never applied for permits and they also told me that there no break ins in the area for a while I put 2+2 together and came to realization that we just got scammed.

First I called the 1800 number and was put on hold for an hour before someone came to the phone. I told them about the situation and they told me that there was an office that is in my area for 2 month out of the year. And that they couldn't give me the address or the name or phone number of the manager because it wasnt there policy to do so but they could connect me to him. I said ok. When they transferred me. a man answered the phone and said who the F. is this. I'm busy knocking doors leave me the F. alone. An then he hung up. The man that sold my girlfriend the unit called while I was on my way home I started asking questions to him like to you have a permit, tell me about this company, and why did one of your employees yell and curses at me he told me that I was just mad because he sold my girlfriend alone and that I could cancel and that he didnt need my business and he started laughing at me and hung.

I got home 2mins later to find a truck with Arizona license plates on it I ran over to the truck asked them who there were with and they told me Firstline I called the cops.

When the cops came out they told them that they have had problems in the past with them and that they needed permits to solicit there and to leave the city right now.
This is when the real problems started. The next day i got 14 phone calls from the manager laughing and saying weird things on the phone to me, so I started doing my research they had a business license in another town and the man that did the install didn't have a contractor license to do the work and that they weren't spost to do the work on the house until the 3 day cancellation was up. So I called the 1800 number again trying to get license numbers they couldn't help me and told me that wasn't there department. I didn't want to hold anymore so I hung up.

The next phone call I got was from the manager again he told me that they wanted the equipment back an told me not to call the 1800 number again. Then he told me that me my girlfriend and kid could burn in hell. I finally said enough is enough and went to the police again told the officer about the phone calls and the phone rang again they thought it was me and was yelling though the phone the officer told them if they didn't stop calling that they would go to jail for harassment now when they were on the phone the police told the officer that they were trying to press charges on me for calling customer service.

The bottom line is this is one big mess and I cant get answers from nobody the worst part is that I had all new windows and doors and now that they put holes in them it voids the warranty on the windows. I cancelled the contract. So if you this has happened to you. Beware of the fly by night alarm scams
